A Clarification about my last Posting

Since I’m not a Sean Hannity wanna be, I have no problem posting a clarification or even a retraction of sorts, regarding my last post.

I do not believe that every single person involved in the modern peace movement is a God hating atheist or a USA hating communist.  But I do get the distinct impression that the organizers behind it all, are.

On the other hand if my fellow Evangelicals have any hope of reaching outsiders who are liberals, or peace marchers, or even anarchists, (And Jesus did say go into ALL the world) then we’d better make sure whenever possible our churches stay right out of politics altogether.

We need to stay as far as we can from pinheads like this group in Florida who are having a “Burn the Koran” day.  Our Lord said “Love your enemies,” not pick a fight with them.

FAIL!

And we Evangelicals need to disassociate ourselves from people like those jack wagons who showed up at U Albany last year (or was it the year before?) with signs that had stuff like “God Hates Gays” on them.  That got me so upset I almost showed up on campus dressed in drag carrying a super soaker!

Where was God?

A family in Hudson Falls NY USA is bearing a cross no one should ever be forced to carry.

Six children perished in a deadly house fire.

Yet one of the things that still makes the USA a great nation is how charity can spontaneously
erupt at a moments notice. A fund has been established and a fund raiser has been set up
to aide the survivors of this tragedy.

It’s times like this when we want to ask, “Where was God?

“Why did He allow this to happen?”

That’s a good question!

It seems the hardest price God has to pay in granting humanity free will is that He had to also allow the consequences to occur resulting from our choices.

As a result of Adam and Eve’s wrong choice they lost paradise and became vulnerable to all the forces of nature.  Their offspring became so wicked that generations later God destroyed the earth in a flood.  Everyone perished except for Noah’s family.

Centuries later after God scattered humanity after The Tower of Babel He chose one man Abraham to found His chosen people Israel out from whom would come the Messiah, Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Although He was The Son of God, He rejected royalty and obeyed His Father God to suffer the worst this awful world could dish out and become the sin offering for the world while dieing on a Roman cross.

But after Good Friday came Easter morning and the witness of the empty tomb.  By the power of The Holy Spirit and the witness of the apostles the gospel rapidly spread throughout The Roman World and The Church was established.

When God’s people obey The Holy Spirit the The Real Church becomes “The Salt of the Earth” and “The Light of the World.”

As a result if nations and leaders listen to the true church (Which is Not just one human organization BTW) people can be blessed.  When nations and leaders persecute the church evil reigns.  Yet for some reason The church always seems to grow the fastest when it has the most against it.  How ironic.

So where was God at a time like this?  He’s right with family and the community grieving along with them.  We the church, as God’s people are now His hands that reach out, His arms that embrace, and His feet to move and accomplish His Will.

We are all called to carry each others burdens like The bible says we should.  We’re to rejoice with those who rejoice and mourn with those who mourn.

One day Our Father God will say

“Enough!”

On that day The Son will come again in order to establish His Kingdom on the earth.  In that day death, Hell, and the evil one will get what’s coming to them.

For this family in Hudson Falls, that day can’t come soon enough.

Please join me in praying for them.

Keeping it Real at the Hospital

Christians aren’t perfect, just forgiven.

And churches aren’t supposed to be meeting places for the holier than most crowd either.

It just seems that way sometimes.

Jesus said it’s the sick that need a doctor, not those who think they are well,or at least are trying to act like they’re well.

That being said in reality a church should really be a spiritual hospital with Dr. Jesus as the Great Physician.  Allot of churches are finally getting that. Thank God mine is one them.

We recognize that there are allot of hurting people out there who if they have to pretend everything’s perfect in their life they’re going to explode.

At Grace Fellowship in the Albany NY area we just started a whole bunch of workshops on a whole slew of issues. Everything from dealing with various addictions, to caring for elderly parents, to Understanding Depression.

The latter was the one that caught my eye.

Most of the time I talk about spiritual issues over at “Lucky Loser” but this needed to be said here.

If your house of worship isn’t a place where there’s a safe place to let your guard down you need to find a place where you can.

Imagine a hospital in the natural  where you had to act like you were well most of the time.

That would suck rotten eggs wouldn’t it?

Who let the Pigs IN!!!

Never mind who let the dogs out!

Who let the pigs in?  Who threw their pearls to the swine?

As in,who let the pigs  into the church so that people with a malevolent agenda could film children and children ministry leaders in some very intimate deeply spiritual moments!!!

I’m talking about one of the most inspirational films I’ve ever seen. It’s inspiring because it totally torqued me off! There is smoke pouring from my nostrils and fire balls over my head!

“Jesus Camp,” is an evil twisted movie that takes the precious innocence of child like faith and makes it out to be something like Hitler’s Youth Program or Mao’s Cultural Revolution.

It looks like some well meaning Christian leaders were conned into letting this serpent, film their youth camp. They of course only show the most controversial radical moments.

So, I’m inspired and proud of all the all the kids in the film and the youth director who got scammed by this snake in the grass film maker.

I wish I could send my kids to a camp like the one in this movie.

Just be prepared to be torqued off if you’re an evangelical Christian!

Busting Christmas Myths!

Happy Jesus birthday everyone!

This is the time of year when millions upon millions of people around the world celebrate the birth of the world’s most famous Jewish Rabbi!

So I would like to mark the occasion with a little Christmas myth busting.

Chances are Jesus really wasn’t born in December.  Shepherds only watch their flocks at night when their lambs are about to give birth and are the most vulnerable to predators.  That doesn’t happen in late December.

And as for “No room at the Inn” we got that wrong too.  The Greek word for “Inn” can also refer to guest quarters in someone’s dwelling.  Eastern protocol demands census or no census all family travelers must be accommodated.

If the guest area is fully occupied people lodged their new guests with the animals.  That’s how Joesph and Mary wound up at the manger.  No 1st Century “Best Western“was involved.

Meanwhile the Three Wise Men weren’t even with the Shepherds .  The text says they came to the house where Joesph and Mary were not the manger.

Their journey took allot longer than 12 days.  It may have taken as much as two years based on paranoid Herod’s reaction to their arrival in Jerusalem.

Then again Herod had allot to be nervous about.  The wise men or more accurately “Magi” held a high place of power in that day and age.  These royal advisers from the East were often the one’s who decided who the next king was going to be in Persia.

Just because they had three types of gifts doesn’t mean there were only three of them.  They were quite a site to behold when they arrived with an entourage in Jerusalem with their own army.  Carrying gold is dangerous in the 21st Century let alone bringing it through the frontier east of Roman territory.

The last last thing a ruthless corrupt monarch like Herod, who got his position by hook and by crook, needed to have was an army of Magi show up from rival Persia asking about who the next “King of the Jews” was going to be.  When the Magi didn’t return he thought they were plotting a coup against him.

Based upon the time they said the star first appeared Herod had all toddlers killed as well as infants.  He wasn’t taking any chances.  Rome would have demanded swift action.

The biggest myth of all though has to be Christmas itself.  No where in the Bible does it say we have to celebrate Christmas.  Or for that matter Good Friday and Easter too.

If anything we’re discouraged from making special days at all.  That was one of the apostle Paul’s pet peeves.  People making new believers follow Old Testament customs.

He believed for the Christian every day was special.  When someone is really living for  God every day can be Christmas, Good Friday and Easter all rolled into one.

At my house the big thing is going to church and singing Christmas carols on Christmas Eve.  That’s always special.

Of course the kids can’t wait until the service is over to go home and OPEN PRESENTS!!!

But just how someone celebrates  Christmas is really up to them whether they want to do anything at all.  As long as the Savior’s Spirit has already been birthed in their heart that’s all that really matters.

Going Jihad

Don’t worry, this blog is not about firearms and explosives.

I’m just sick of all the demon possessed Jihadists getting their way and whiny politicians around the world who think they can apologize and negotiate with these loons.

I just need to blow off some steam with some good ole fashioned revival style Pentecostal preaching.

It’s time for real Christians and real churches around the world to stand up and be counted.  Drop the smarmy PC speech and just preach The Truth in love!

This is all about spiritual warfare.  The kind that is waged because our champion already won the greatest victory and now we’re claiming the prize.

This kind of fighting the followers of Baal (aka Allah) have no clue about because they’re deceived by the father of lies.  But we the people of the book the followers of our Jewish Messiah and Christ to the world who know who the real enemy is we must wage our jihad against him using weapons that are not natural.  These are things like prayer, praise and worship.

When the suicide bombers and the Ft. Hood madman scream “Allah Akbar“  (“God is Great”)  we should all in one accord and unity respond

“JESUS Is LORD!!!”

or if you really want to shake things up in the spirit world try the more literal. . .

“YESHUA IS JEHOVAH!!!”

Take that devil!  I’m tired of you messing with our troops here and abroad.    This country was founded for the glory of the living God and you can’t have it!

Fecal Matter

When I recently listed my favorite topics to blog about, there’s one I didn’t mention. Besides, Religion, Politics, and Local Topics, there’s one more.

Crud!

It’s crap!  It’s raw sewage and all the other G Rated words I use to describe pornography.  Especially the kind available on the internet.  To think that much of what’s available on the web was illegal just a few short years ago.  Come to think of it allot of it still is illegal.

Do these devils care?  No way!  They will drag your soul down to the deepest part of hell itself.  They will suck all the money from your wallet your bank accounts and put you debt so fast you won’t know what hit you.  You’ll sell your car and lose your house just to get your fix.  Porn is just like any other addiction.

So what are you waiting for good Christian brother?  Why do you still get up at at 3am to do what you got to do when no one but Jesus can see what you’re doing?

Jesus Has Left the Building

There’s a famous passage from the book of Revelation. It’s chapter 3 verse 20.

“²⁰ Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me.” ( Rev. 3:20 NKJV)

Most people think of this verse as a personal witnessing tool.  They imagine The Lord standing at the door of someone’s heart.  However that’s not what’s going on here.

The fact is the church the apostle John is writing to has pushed God right out the door.   Jesus has left the building!  And now He’s knocking on the door to get back in.

That’s pretty bad considering this church has a full fledged living apostle for an overseer.  Just imagine how many churches toss God out today.

What do you suppose are some easy things we can look for?  How can we tell if a church we know of, has kicked God out the door?  When do we know that Jesus has left the building!

Here are some obvious examples.

When you go into the recreation room and two of the popular games are a Ouija board and Tarot cards.  Chances are

Jesus has left the building.

If meditation classes and a new age book discussion club draw more attendees than a bible study chances are

Jesus has left the building.

And if the church (like the one in this video) invites a commie loving wingnut like Anita Dunn chances are

Jesus has left the building.

How ironic having a woman speak at a church about a murdering atheist thug like Mao.  Perhaps Ms. Dunn needs to check out a site like China Aide. A site that will tell her all she needs to know about the nation her hero Mao founded.

Desperation? Or Pure Evil

When I first heard how an orphanage in Uganda was burned down by an arsonist my first reaction was,

“This is an act of pure evil!”

But when I realized what else happened that night I began to wonder.  Because while the fire was being put out in the confusion a group of villagers came and stole a bunch of clothing.  Was this evil or a desperate chance to get clothing for their own children.

Either way the dormitory for the older girls at the Canaan Children’s home in Buziika Uganda is a total loss.  Now it will have to be rebuilt and all the beds replaced.

Just something to think about when you feel like complaining.  And while you’re at it you can watch this video.

Who Needs Benny Hinn Anyway?

(DANGER! You are about to be exposed to the rantings of a crazed blogger enjoying a rare long weekend. Please have the number of your local fire dept. handy in case your computer lights on fire. You have been warned . -That is all.)

Who needs the likes of (Possible false prophet) Benny Hinn anyway?  And come to think of it, what about Kenneth Copeland and (Mr. TBN) Paul and (Poofy hair) Jan Crouch?  Who needs them?

What if?

What if?

What if instead of people shelling out their hard earned money to people like that, they gave to their local church and their local missions committee?  What if they donated their money only to people who they knew were personally vetted by someone they knew and trusted?

Consider how (Forgive me if I seem to be on a mega-church kick as of late- it’s just the way I roll) the mega-church movement began around the same time as Jim (Mr PTL Club – I got my Rolls Royce on the roof of my mansion while I’m begging for money) Bakker, Jimmy (I have sinned against the Lord, crocodile tears) Swaggert, crashed and burned and Marion (God told me to stay out of politics back in in the 1960′s so I better cull that chapter out of my book even though I should have taken out the chapter where I twisted scripture to justify treating my wife like dirt) “Pat” Robertson had his ridiculous run for the presidency.

Allot of people finally got it.  They only gave their tithes and offerings to people they  knew and could be accountable to.

As a result local churches prospered and many were able to support a large number of local and international mission projects.  Most of these folks will never be a household name.  You’ll never see them on the one eyed electric plasma brain sucker at 3am begging for money and promising a big check in the mail from the Lord Himself.

(And for the record, God does bless when people give from the heart in love.)

But for some reason allot of folks seem to have forgotten that lesson and as a result we’ve got a whole new batch of false prophets ready for the furnace.  Perhaps part of why there’s a decline in church attendance is people see how lame and laughable these TV superstars are and it makes them sick.

Do we need a Christian preacher channel on 24/7?  Or do we need 24/7 prayer warriors like the kind the apostle Peter had when he got tossed in the slammer.  The brother has an angelic assisted jail break and crashes a prayer meeting at 3am!  That’s what I’m talking about!

How did Simon Peter know to show up at Mary, the mother of Mark’s house?  Because he knew they would be praying!  No TV, no internet or cell phones required.

We don’t need Hinn, Copeland and Crouch.  Just gimmie that classic, Book of Acts old time religion!
