At Last!!! Good News For the North Country!!!

It’s always a pleasure to share some good news when there’s progress on a story I’ve been following. At long last the powers that be have pulled their heads out of the sand to do something significant regarding the closure of the Champlain bridge.

For a while it just seemed like everything was going downhill fast.  They said they were going to fix the old bridge.  Then it turned out those repairs would only be good for five years.  So they decided they’d have to replace the old bridge at a cost of 67 million and take two years to do it.  (Sorry no stimulus package for you) – from CS9

But now things are looking up on two fronts.  One, there’s going to be a new ferry service right near where the closed bridge is.  Construction of a new access road to the ferry dock will begin ASAP.

And front number two : Farms and businesses affected by the closure of the Lake Champlain Bridge will now be able to receive assistance from the state.

The Bear is Charging!

They tried to put the bear down.  The media even went after her family.  But the last thing you want to do is mess with a mama bear’s cubs.

Newsweek in their desperate attempt to stop Sarah Palin (aka Sar Bear) pulled out all the stops and showed their true sexist colors.  If they ever tried to frame anyone on the left like that the magazine would be out of business the next week.  (It makes me wonder what they’d do if Madam Secretary Dr. Rice ever published a tell all book.)

Gov. Palin is doing a media blitz and book tour.  She’s making up for all the stops she couldn’t do as a candidate.

But now it’s payback time!  The bear is charging, so if you’re in her sights you’d better get in your jeep and high tail it outta town!

 

For Rifqa, Rachel,Paula

There’s an old saying,

“If you’re going to pray for rain, bring an umbrella.”

So with all these people holding a rally and praying for Muslim apostate and convert to Christianity Rifqa Bary,

it’s time to start believing  that there will be an eventual positive outcome from all these legal proceedings and she will be emancipated from her parents.

So with that in mind what should she do then?

For starters Rifqa could change her name from a Muslim one to one that comes from the bible like Rachel or Paula.

I like Paula because after all this young lady has one of the most dramatic conversion stories since Saul the Pharisee had his vision on the road to Damascus.  So powerful was the impact of this vision that eventually Saul changed his name to Paul and became the great apostle to the Gentiles.  His influence may have shaped the very course of Western Civilization itself.

But once “Paula” is emancipated I pray that the Christian Media will give her some space.  Maybe she’ll return to Florida and vanish from the limelight for a while.  That would be the best thing I believe for “Paula”.

Give it a year or so.  Then she can appear on “Greta”  “Oprah” and yes, even the 700 club!

My Weekend Music Thread

Going Jihad

Don’t worry, this blog is not about firearms and explosives.

I’m just sick of all the demon possessed Jihadists getting their way and whiny politicians around the world who think they can apologize and negotiate with these loons.

I just need to blow off some steam with some good ole fashioned revival style Pentecostal preaching.

It’s time for real Christians and real churches around the world to stand up and be counted.  Drop the smarmy PC speech and just preach The Truth in love!

This is all about spiritual warfare.  The kind that is waged because our champion already won the greatest victory and now we’re claiming the prize.

This kind of fighting the followers of Baal (aka Allah) have no clue about because they’re deceived by the father of lies.  But we the people of the book the followers of our Jewish Messiah and Christ to the world who know who the real enemy is we must wage our jihad against him using weapons that are not natural.  These are things like prayer, praise and worship.

When the suicide bombers and the Ft. Hood madman scream “Allah Akbar“  (“God is Great”)  we should all in one accord and unity respond

“JESUS Is LORD!!!”

or if you really want to shake things up in the spirit world try the more literal. . .

“YESHUA IS JEHOVAH!!!”

Take that devil!  I’m tired of you messing with our troops here and abroad.    This country was founded for the glory of the living God and you can’t have it!

The Real Curse in Africa

Sometimes on this blog I will whine about how my city of Schenectady is cursed to be like a third world country. I now admit that was quite an exaggeration. In fact it just goes to show how clueless we Americans can be about the rest of the world.

Take for example what’s going on in East Central Africa.  While we debate whether or not we have a domestic terrorist situation in our military, (Which IS A BIG DEAL BTW) this part of the world has already been completely overrun by anarchy and terror.

Paramilitary groups rule the countryside.

They totally disregard real international boundaries.  These armies inflict unimaginable cruelty  upon whomever they wish recruiting and preying upon children to use as soldiers and slaves.  This is the state of affairs in and around the region of Uganda and Somalia.

There’s nothing we can do about this from a military standpoint.  Perhaps it’s better that way.  We’re good at blowing things up but not so good at nation building.

Religion of Evil

The Lord’s Resistance Army (LRA) is one of the larger terrorist organizations in the world. It has killed more people than many other violent groups, yet few Westerners have ever heard of it, since nearly all its violence is perpetrated in the border region between Uganda and Sudan in East Africa.

On a continent plagued with endless guerilla warfare, where war crimes are standard fighting fare, the LRA stands apart as an especially odious group. LRA crimes against humanity are so repulsive that its only former ally, the Islamic government of Sudan, jettisoned its relationship with the LRA to improve Sudan’s international relations. (Credible sources in Uganda insist Sudan still supplies weapons to the LRA, however.)

What began in 1986 as a rebellion against the Ugandan government has metamorphosed into a military millenarian cult. Its reason for existence is to perpetuate the power of its leader, a ruthless witchcraft practitioner named Joseph Kony.

He claims to be fighting Ugandan president Yoweri Museveni’s government on behalf of the ethnic Acholi people, who populate the nation’s three northernmost districts of Kitgum, Gulu, and Pader. The Acholi have a longstanding grievance with the more prosperous southern Ugandans, much of it rooted in 19th-century British colonial policies that favored southerners in education and business, while relegating the Acholi to army service. However, the LRA attacks the Acholi, the very people they claim to defend, far more often than the Ugandan military.

Kony, 41, envisions an Acholiland ruled by a warped interpretation of the Ten Commandments. He uses passages from the Pentateuch to justify mutilation and murder. He promotes a demonic spirituality crafted from an eclectic mix of Christianity, Islam, and African witchcraft.

Any resemblance to these religions is superficial: While the army observes rituals such as praying the rosary and bowing toward Mecca, there is no prescribed theology in the conventional sense. Kony’s beliefs are a haphazard mix from the Bible and the Qur’an, tailored around his wishful thinking, personal desires, and practical needs of the moment. Jesus is the Son of God. But instead of saving the world from sin through his sacrificial love on the Cross, he is a source of power employed for killing those who oppose Kony. The Holy Spirit is not the Divine Comforter, but one who directs Kony’s tactical military decisions.

Despite dabbling in the Bible and the Qur’an, Kony’s real spiritual obsession is witchcraft. He burns toy military vehicles and figurines to predict the course of battles from their burn patterns. He uses reptiles in magic rituals to sicken those who anger him or to detect traitors in his midst. He claims to receive military direction from spirits of dead men from different countries, including Americans. He teaches that an impending apocalypse will usher in “The Silent World,” where only primitive weapons, such as machetes and clubs, will bring victory.

Brutality, Terror

Sadly, reports of LRA savagery are not isolated incidents. The children I interviewed in Uganda and southern Sudan who escaped LRA captivity, along with thousands of documented cases, demonstrate that these monstrosities are standard operating procedure. Nearly 90 percent of LRA fighters are enslaved children, kidnapped from their families.

If there’s any real hope for this part of the world it’s from those who know where real power comes from.  What governments can’t change missionaries and churches can change one soul at a time.

The Perverted State in New England

First off we want to send lots of prayers and kind thoughts to everyone in and around the Fort Hood area in Texas.  This is something that a lot of people will never fully recover from.

As always I watch all breaking news on Fox.  They are the least prone to giving into sensationalism or being too melodramatic as the big three have a tendency to do.

But Thursday night’s O’Reilly Factor was exceptional for other reasons too.  It wasn’t just the professional way Bill O and team Fox covered a breaking news story it was everything else they had on the program as well.

The big stand out for me was a story from my neighboring state of Vermont.  It was about a judicial system that treats sex offenders as patients rather than criminals.

This story goes deeper than what meets the eye.  I know at times we conservatives beat the same drum allot.  But as more evidence mounts we’re forced to make the same conclusions.

The Godless Liberal establishment is evil.

They treat child rapists as if they are merely misguided as if molestation is more about consensual sex than about what it really is ; a wicked and cruel act.  I’d almost think that NAMBLA is behind the scenes pulling the judge’s and the local media’s strings.

It’s bad enough Liberals are cruel to preborn infants by allowing abortion on demand.  But now they want to allow consensual sex with minors.

To make matters worse what kind of people will this light sentencing trend attract to Vermont.  It’s like this.  Homeless people go to California, because they’re well treated in San Francisco.  Gun lovers go to Texas because of their right to carry law.   And now with judges like this,  sex offenders will want to live in Vermont.

So now there is no way that I’m ever going to want to visit Vermont with my family.  Not when it’s becoming the haven for perverts and child molesters!

Another World, Another Location

Yesterday was a day filled with some good news, some bad news, and some really good news.  First the bad news.  My one horse in yesterdays race lost by over fifteen hundred votes.  -From The Daily Gazette

“Dominic Dagostino, a Conservative running with the Democratic backing, captured the position of Schenectady County sheriff Tuesday night by more than 1,000 votes in unofficial results. Dagostino, 43, defeated Joseph Lazzari, a member of the Independence Party running on the Republican line. The sheriff’s race was the only contested countywide race.”

Now for the good news.  Looks like Ayatollah Dear Leader Obama got his first setback in his goal of forcing his Marxist regime on the entire USA!!

“Republican gubernatorial wins in New Jersey and Virginia mark a troubling turn for President Obama, whose personal efforts couldn’t stop the fall of Democrats facing a voter backlash over the economy and a notable uptick in the government’s would-be role in people’s lives.

Obama’s 2008 victory in Old Dominion had marked an historic breakthrough for Democrats who hadn’t won Virginia’s electoral votes since 1964. The fight in the Garden State was more grueling than usually accompanies Democratic campaigns in the reliably blue state of New Jersey.

So the setbacks demonstrate the difficulty of presidential leadership following a campaign built on promises of unity followed by divisive policies and a relentless campaign approach toward big legislative issues like the stimulus and health care bills.”

And now for the really good news which had absolutely nothing to do with the elections.  Which, all things considered, weren’t that big a deal for me this year anyway.

It seems Downtown Schenectady is finally getting rid of a stain in its downtown area.  The Another World Bookstore will be closing it’s doors at its current location.

“The last holdout in the bitter two-year battle over Erie Boulevard has waved the white flag.

Rocco Palmer, owner of Another World, has agreed to accept a “fair deal” to relocate his adult business out of downtown.

“We’re willing to negotiate,” he said on Tuesday.”

Even if they move to another place in the city, it will most likely be one that’s not as conducive to all the other (AHEM) activities that went on there.

In fact the sidewalk in front might be a good place for a little “Street Fishing.”  

The View From Below the 23rd and Real Change

Schenectady NY where I live is about 100 miles to the south of the infamous NY-23rd Congressional district.  My TV market barely reaches it via cable and arrays that look like cell phone towers next to people’s houses.

But that’s enough to make it all the buzz around here.  In a way though it’s almost surreal with all the national attention this race is getting.  We’re talking about a part of New York that if it weren’t for the mountains to the south and the international boundary to the north you might think you were in Nebraska.  That’s how remote NY-23 is.

So to have Joe Biden show up to speak up for Democrat Bill Owens is a quite an oddity.  You just wouldn’t see that in a normal election year.  People don’t usually give a rip about how the vote is going in Plattsburg, Watertown and Massena.

“It wasn’t a packed house, but that didn’t derail any enthusiasm. State Democratic leaders and the Vice President of the United States found their way to Watertown to rally around the democratic candidate Bill Owens.

Owens and Biden tackled subjects like Fort Drum, health care and the economy.”

Meanwhile Doug Hoffman is getting help from Fred Thompson.  He’s got an ad running on cable endorsing the conservative independent.

Then there’s country star John Rich.  He’s stumping for Doug Hoffman too.

“Country music star John Rich and Tennessee senator Fred Thompson are backing Hoffman in his race for the 23rd district congressional seat. Both men say they made the trip in the hours before Election Day because they believe Hoffman is the beginning of change for the country as a whole.”

However, everything else about this race is politics as usual.  The local media is blaming national celebrities like Rush Limbaugh for forcing GOP candidate Dede Scozzafava to pull out.

They’re making it sound like she was a victim.  It’s more like she was a victim of her own ignorance.  Scozzafava assumed people wouldn’t see her for what she really was, a shill for ACORN and Obama.”

Maybe John Rich and Fred Thompson are right.  Perhaps this is “The beginning of change for the country as a whole.”

Now that’s what I call REAL Change!
